My take on skin replenishing

That fresh face look!

Hello beauty's! I'm back today to share my knowledge on skin care.
So there is no such thing as 'perfect skin', but there may be some girls who are blessed with genetically normal skin and little to no blemishes. However, there are also many girls with problematic skin, including myself. My skin is something which i've struggled with, I have very sensitive and oily skin type so as you can imagine its very tricky for me! Being a makeup artist and makeup fanatic, skincare has now become my bestfriend.

Furthermore, here are some of my best tips which have helped my skin tremendously!

  •  Makeup can turn into your worst enemy very fast.

The application of your makeup plays a huge role for your skin condition. Applying the wrong foundation can break you out very fast along with sleeping with makeup on. No, No NO! That is absolute torture for your skin as your not allowing it to breath and repair overnight, and you can bet that your skin will get its revenge that next morning. It doesn't matter if your too tired, busy or even drunk, no excuses ladies!

My tips
- Choose a good primer which suits your skin type, this works as a great barrier between your skin and the foundation you apply. Thus, preventing breakouts. After all, Its a crime not to prime!

-Before purchasing a foundation, ask for a sample first. This way, after a few applications you will know how your skin reacts to it. I can't tell you how many times i've splurged out on an expensive foundation only to find that it causes disasters for my skin!

-If you reach the point of very bad acne, consider taking a break from makeup.I know, even the thought of it scares you, but this will allow your skin to revive.

  •  You are what you eat!

Fast food, sweets, fizzy drinks, chocolate.Eating them on a daily basis will not only having a horrible effect on your body but your skin also! Your skin will react, and it won't be pretty.
Instead, try drinking fresh clean water (2L) a day along with eating plenty of fruits and vegetables rich in antioxidantsAntioxidants such as beta-carotene and vitamins C, E, and A can curb the damage caused by unstable molecules known as free radicals. These molecules can harm skin cells and cause signs of ageing.

My tips
- Try creating an amazing detoxing drink made from water, mint leaves and lemon. This will not only flush toxins from your body, but your skin too.

- There are some great vitabiotics you can take available today on the market for your skin. The ones I've tried are called 'Perfectil plus nails'.

  •  Be kind to your skin and it will repay you.

Proper skin care is something I've never given a chance before and i don't know why. I love it now! Its like pampering yourself. And hey, you don't have to spend your money on fancy salons when you can do it all yourself at home. Skin care is essential as your face is the part of your body which receives the least nutrients.

My tips
- Use a mask suited for your skin type at least once a week. You will begin to see results!
(I'm currently using the new one's L'oréal have came out with and they have became my new obsession!)

- Pores! Once in 10 days to 2 weeks I always make sure to cleanse my face deeply of any dirt that got trapped in my pores by using a steaming machine, hot mask, and pore strips!

-Moisturise! This is something i've neglected. As having oily skin, applying even more moisture may seem like a bad idea. Its not! Its the exact opposite. By applying a moisturiser, you are giving your skin the moisture it needs, thus, preventing your skin from having to develop it!

  •  Bacteria is everywhere!!!

You would be surprised at how big of an influence this has on your skin. Holding a dirty phone up to your cheek, touching your face with unwashed hands, using an already dirty makeup brush.. You don't notice these little things but your skin most certainly does.

My tips
- Wipe your phone with anti bacterial wipes frequently. Think about the amount of times you hold your phone in your hands, if your like me, it goes everywhere with you!

-Wash your makeup brushes every few days! This is a pain in the ass to do, trust me, being a makeup artist, i know the struggle. But there's nothing worse than applying bacteria straight to your face!

-Wash your hands! you might think this is common sense, but doing this before you apply makeup or any other time when you know that your going to be touching your face will be a life saver in the long run!

Thats all for today, I really do hope this post helped someone and you all took something out of it! All of these tips are from my own personal experience, I've tried what feels like hundreds of spot creams and nothing has worked as good as the tips i've shared above.
I've only mentioned tips and methods in this post. However, If you would like me to write about favourite products, my daily retinue, etc.. Just notify me in the comment section below!

Disclaimer: If you struggle with severe acne, then i would recommend going to see your GP or a good pharmacist who will recommend some stronger acne treatment.

Here is quick picture of where and why you break out in some places on your face more so than others.

TRENDING: All about that glow

We all have to agree, there's nothing more exciting than purchasing a brand new highlighter/illuminator and swiping that finely pigmented dust all over your cheekbone for the first time. I for one, crave that pop of luminosity which adds that healthy, beautiful glow to my skin as well as enhancing my cheekbones. As we are currently in the summer months, I tend to bump up my highlight to the point where sunglasses are required. This season, more and more companies are creating new forms of illuminating the skin and everyone seems to be going crazy for that sparkle! There's even Youtubers doing their full face of makeup using highlighters alone! Thus, I've decided to share some of my current favourite
highlighters and highlighting techniques with you guys!

1. My go-to highlighting combo

Benefit's high beam liquid highlighter(€27.50) paired with M.A.C's soft and gentle highlighter (28.74).
This combination leaves the most glistering and sheen effect on the skin, you can bet that your highlight will pop!

I like to apply this by firstly applying the liquid highlighter on my ring finger and applying it on the tops on my cheekbones in light dabbing motions following it up by dusting the M.A.C highlighter over it for that flawless finish.
btw-remember to use a small amount of the high beam as a little goes a long way with that stuff!

2. Subtle yet stunning

M.A.C's strobe cream(29.63) paired with revolutions vivid baked highlighter in golden lights (2.69) (amazing value!).
Ever since I've purchased M.A.C's strobe cream I'm obsessed with it! I love mixing it in with my foundation for that perfect pearly glow.
I've found that these two are a fabulous match together for highlighting due to their holographic effect on the skin.

When applying, I use a damp beauty blender to apply the strobe cream in all my desired areas and then after applying the highlighter over it leaving an exquisite effect.

3. Sleek,Sleek & more Sleek

        Precious metals                                                                                    Solstice
First of all i'd like to address Sleek's packaging, how pretty! I'm a sucker for anything that comes in nice shiny containers!
Both cost (€12.49)
I love reaching for these babies whenever I want quick, instant pigmentation, they both include cream highlighters which are perfect for that intense glow that we all love! The quality of this product considering the price point impressed me a lot! My favourite has to be the purple shade in 'Solstice', I never thought that a purple highlighter could look so flawless.
When applying, I use the same techniques as i've previously mentioned.

Quick tips- Apply a setting spray when your finished highlighting as it will enhance your glow further and keep it dazzling throughout the day.

If you feel you over intensified your highlight and its looking a little too much, just use a damp beauty blender and dab over it to blend it in more with your skin.

Those are just a few of my current favourites! I am always on the hunt to discover new ones so I'll be sure to post an upgraded 'All about that glow'.

I really hope you all enjoyed and benefitted from this post and please be sure to comment your feedback!
